Review of biotechnology for reducing ammonia emissions
Ammonia emissions are found in various facilities such as wastewater treatment plants, composting factories, pig houses, and industrial fertilizers, food and metallurgy. Effective management of these emissions is important to minimize the adverse effects that they can have on health and the environment. Physical-chemical (thermal oxidation, absorption, catalytic oxidation, etc.) Care is the most common technique for reducing ammonia emissions. The exact management of ammonia bio-oxidation sub-products is key parameters for the correct process operation. The aim of this review is to check critically biotechnology which is currently used for the treatment of ammonia gas emissions that highlight the pros and cons of each technology. The main parameters for each configuration used in full-scale bioreactors and laboratories are analyzed and summarized according to previous publications.
